Description
Our client has taken a decision to target the rapidly developing civil nuclear power market. This represents a significant initiative and is intended to allow us to extend and develop our nuclear expertise into new markets for the Company. Our strategy is to exploit our nuclear capabilities to create a business focusing on new build manufacturing services, in service reactor plant support and lifetime extension, and future concept development activities.
Opportunities exist within our engineering team for Manufacturing Engineers who will provide an interface between Engineering and in-house manufacturing and the supply chain in the specification of production and quality compliance requirements needed to deliver the design intent. This will include specification of requirements for fabrication, inspection, test and certification.
Qualifications and experience
With a degree, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering you will have a broad manufacturing engineering background, with a sound knowledge of machining / welding processes and the associated quality assurance requirements, to interpret a design into manufacturing specification and geometry. Experience within the nuclear industry is preferred, but applicants from other highly regulated industries such as oil and gas will be considered.
You will be able to specify production and quality assurance requirements for the manufacture of components such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and valves.
Through interface with the supply chain, you will validate the suppliers method of manufacture and capability, ensuring requirements for quality, cost and delivery are met, whilst ensuring responsiveness and performance are sustainable.
Experience within a heavy industry manufacturing environment involving large forgings and machining would be preferred. Experience in the supply of pressure vessels, or equivalent components, would be advantageous.
Candidates who are willing to travel and who are either members or working towards membership of a professional body will be at a distinct advantage.
We’re building a world class team to drive our ambition for global growth in this expanding market. Our ambitions are matched by a commitment to your personal and professional development, with continuous training and individual support to make the most of your talents and take you where you want to go. And remember, once you join our client, you enter a world of opportunity across the engineering spectrum.
In return, we offer excellent development prospects, coupled with the salary and benefits you would expect of an internationally renowned and successful organisation. We are an equal opportunities employer.
