Reporting to the Projct Manager and UK Saftey Manager on multi million pound energy construction projects to primarily execute the H&S duties of Principle Contractor. Promote saftey leadership within the project teams by making the appropriate interventions to prevent unsafe situations or acceptable risks being taken. Challenging tradional thinking where appropriate. Mainly site based carrying out coaching, checking, monitoring, and auditing of project works. Coordination of contractor works and client interface activities will be a primary focus along with reporting and record maintenance duties. Saftey advisory role including interaction with engineering and other support teams to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
Suitable applicants must have the following:
• Significant experience in a health & Saftey role in the site construction of energy related projects e.g. generation progects, CCGT’s, coal power plants, biomass, transmission networks or oil & gas.
• Degree qualified in H&S or related discipline.
• CDM Training and experience.
• Progressing to chartered IOSH status and hold the required quals to obtain this.
